hashim ahmedHashim Ahmed, CA, Chairman of the Board

Mr. Ahmed brings over 19 years of experience to the Board of Stratabound, the past 10 years of which has been focused in the mining industry along with expertise in financial management, strategy, corporate turnaround, and capital markets. Mr. Ahmed is currently Chief Financial Officer of Jaguar Mining Inc. having previously served as Vice President and Controller for Jaguar. He obtained his CA designation  with PriceWaterhouseCoopers LLP and later worked with Ernst & Young LLP in their mining advisory practice. Prior to Jaguar, Mr. Ahmed worked with Barrick Gold for over 7 years, where he held progressively senior positions in finance functions in Canada, and with site finance teams in Chile. At Jaguar, he oversees financial and non-financial aspects of the business, including economic strategy and business planning, treasury and tax management, human resources, supply chain and systems. Hashim is also a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) USA and the Financial Executives International (FEI) Canada, where he is also actively involved as a volunteer.

 

terry_bybergTerrence H. Byberg, Executive Vice President and Director 

Mr. Byberg has 43 years of international mining experience in Canada, USA, Mexico, Greece, Australia and the Philippines, with extensive public company experience in the areas of management, production and operations.

He has been: Founder and Vice President of Mining for Chieftain Metals, Inc.; Founder, President and CEO of Silver Eagle Mines, Inc.; President and Chief Operating Officer of Philippine  Gold; General Manager for Exall Resources; General Manager for TVX in Northern Quebec and Greece; and General Manager for Royal Oak in Yellowknife, NWT.

Mr. Byberg began his career, in 1972, with the Dome Group in Red Lake where, during a 17 year period, he worked as a Surveyor and Ventilation Engineer, Miner, Shift Boss, Training and Safety Superintendent, Assistant Mine Superintendent and Mine Superintendent. Still within the Dome Group he transferred to Detour Lake Mine, based in Timmins Ontario, where he was the Production Superintendent from 1988 thru 1990.

Mr. Byberg is a Graduate of the Haileybury School of Mines.

 

kim_tylerR. Kim Tyler, P.Geo, B.Sc., President, CEO, and Director 

Mr. Tyler is a mining and exploration professional with over 40 years of progressive management and executive experience in gold, base metals and industrial minerals with companies including Vale, Rio Tinto, Royal Oak Mines and Cominco Ltd. Mr. Tyler brings strong technical expertise that, besides mineral exploration, includes mine operations management experience in both open pit and underground mining operations. Since 2007 Mr. Tyler has served as President and Director of Canadian Arrow Mines Limited, a junior exploration and development company listed on the TSX Venture Exchange. During his tenure leading the executive team through exploration to pre-development phases, Mr. Tyler has managed successful financings, property acquisitions, NI 43-101 Resource and PEA studies, and various mining agreements including First Nations, custom milling and concentrate off-take agreements. Under his leadership the Company was awarded “Developer of the Year” in 2008 by the Northwestern Ontario Prospectors and Developers Association and received a public award of recognition for best business practices by the Grand Chief of the First Nations within Treaty #3. Mr. Tyler has also held positions as Manager of Projects Evaluation North America for a TSX listed mid-tier gold producer as well as Operations Manager for two other TSX-listed junior gold development companies.

Mr. Tyler is a Professional Geoscientist registered in both British Columbia and Ontario. He has worked within both junior and major mining and exploration environments. As such he has had exposure to innovation and best industry practices from a number of corporate cultures.

 

mike_robb2R M (Mike) Robb, P.E., Director

Mr. Robb has 46 years of international mining experience, with extensive experience in the areas of management, design, construction and operations.

He was VP of Development for Silver Standard Resources from 2005 to 2007 where his responsibilities included the design and construction of the Minas Pirquitas mine in Argentina.

From 2001 to 2003 he was VP of Mina Magestral (Queenstake), where he was responsible for the construction and initial operation of the company’s first producing mine. He served as Director of Operations (Mexico) for Eldorado Gold from 1995 to 1997 where he directed the doubling of gold production at the La Colorado mine and the opening of a new mine.

Since 2007, Mr. Robb has been an Independent Consulting Engineer providing management and mining engineering services to firms worldwide.

He is a Registered Professional Engineer in Arizona, Maine, Nevada and New Mexico. He is also a Member of the PE Exam Committee of the Society of Mining Engineers (SME), author of nine technical papers, and co-author of one patent and one reference book. He is a Registered Member of the SME and a Qualified Person as defined by N I 43-101.

Mr. Robb is a Retired Colonel USMC Reserve, a Viet Nam veteran and a Graduate of the University of Idaho.

 

gary nassifGary Nassif, P.Geo, M.Sc., Director

Mr. Nassif is a professional geologist with over 25 years’ experience in gold, base-metal and diamond exploration in Canada, United States and sub-Saharan Africa.

He is the former Senior Vice President of Jerritt Canyon Gold, previously privately owned by Sprott Mining Inc. and recently acquired by First Majestic Silver Corp. He is also President & CEO of Argentum Silver Corp., a TSX-V listed explorer, and a director of Inventus Mining and Warrior Gold. He was previously Manager of Exploration Services for several juniors  including Trelawney Mining & Exploration prior to its sale to IAMGOLD for $608 million in 2012. He holds an M.Sc. in Geology (McGill University), a B.Sc. in Geology (Concordia University) and a Certificate in Mining Law from Osgoode Hall.

 

jonathan hillJonathan Hill, Fellow of AUSIMM, B.Sc. (Hons), Director

Mr. Hill has over 30 years’ experience of global exploration, mining operational and project development experience including, Africa, Australia, and the Americas. He currently holds the  position of Expert Advisor on the Management Committee of Jaguar Mining Corp. and is an independent Director for Royal Road Minerals Limited. He spent most of his formative years as a geologist with Anglo American and AngloGold Ashanti, where he recently held the title of Exploration Manager, Colombia Greenfields and was directly involved in the discovery of several world-class projects within both greenfield and brownfield areas. Jon holds a BSc (Hons) Economic Geology 1988 (University of Cape Town), and a BAppSc. Applied Geology 1985 (Queensland University of Technology). He has been a member of AUSIMM since 1986 and a Fellow since 2018.

Mr. Tappendorf is a Partner at Coast Capital, an investment firm based in New York which takes a private equity and long-term approach to investing into public companies. Mr. Tappendorf has extensive global private and public equity investment experience and has held board memberships of several companies in the resources, logistics, real estate, and consumer goods industries. Mr. Tappendorf has managed and lead teams of professionals in US$ multi-billion private equity portfolios and led all aspects of the investment process, including identifying new investment opportunities, due diligence, valuation, and transaction/tax structuring and negotiation.

 

 

 

Scott RasenbergScott Rasenberg, CPA, CA, Director

Mr. Scott Rasenberg, CPA, CA is the President of Rasenberg-Group Limited. In this role Mr. Rasenberg provides innovative tax solutions to a broad range of clients, including private and public corporations, partnerships, trusts, and individuals (residents and non-residents of Canada). His experience includes international and domestic tax structures, reorganizations, tax appeals and compliance, acquisitions, mergers and divestitures in a diversity of sectors including manufacturing, retail, transportation, financial and investment services, real estate, mining, agribusiness and a diverse range of service industries. During his career Mr. Rasenberg has managed administration and implementation of company-wide programs for approximately 450 employees and been responsible for significant procurements, treasury and capital asset management. Mr. Rasenberg is the former Chairman of the Board of California Gold Mining Inc. and the former Vice-President Finance & Administration of J.M.R. Electric Ltd.

 

Ron TomlinsonRon Tomlinson, Director

As CEO of the Tomlinson Group, Mr. Ron Tomlinson has over 35 years of experience in construction materials, infrastructure, environmental services, and aggregates. He has executive-level expertise in management, strategic acquisitions, real estate holdings, partnership and operations. The Tomlinson Group has been producing quality aggregates for more than 40 years and has 25 licensed pits and quarries situated through Eastern & Northern Ontario as well as providing environmental services, waste recovery processing and leading technology in waste to organic fertilizer and recycling. Mr. Tomlinson led this evolution through organic growth and by acquisitions of business that vertically integrate into the core lines of business. The company has grown geographically expanding across Ontario and into the US markets
